Yes! Our treats are ideal for every breed and any life stage.

Keep in mind our treats are not a “complete and balanced” diet and are to be considered as an addition to their daily dietary requirements. If your canine-kiddo has special requirements, it’s always best to consult with your trusted veterinarian and or animal nutritionist before trying a new treat. Dog treats should not account for more than 10% of your dog's daily caloric intake. This product is intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Ever watched your dog try to catch a fly by snapping at the air? That probably answers the first question! Insects are supreme hosts of high protein and healthy fats.

They’re a flavourful alternative to traditional livestock with a fraction of the environmental impact. Along with providing all 10 essential amino acids that dogs require (arginine, histidine, leucine, lysine, isoleucine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine), they also provide a protein-dense form of polyunsaturated fatty acids like Omega-3s, as well as lauric acid.

Not only does BSFL immensely reduce the carbon footprint compared to other protein sources such as meat, poultry, and fish - but they also maximize on nutritional content and minimize on waste. This is because the entire animal is used. In fact, BSFL boasts an exoskeleton rich in prebiotics. When it comes to the eco-cycle that will have a true impact on climate change, this is one of the best choices we can all shift towards!

Yes! We’re happy to share that BSFL adhere to AAFCO standards and AAFCO approves the use of black soldier fly larvae protein (T60.117) for dog consumption.
